A New Adventure...

Dear Readers,

Life is crazy. And busy. And constantly changing.

For the last several months, I have been reevaluating my goals and trying to do better at managing my time while still making headway in the writing world. I began thinking about creating an author website which I can use for my writing - something official that can serve as a platform without eating up all of my time.  I have finally done so!

From now on, I will continue to blog at my new site AnitaSeavey.com.

Here I hope to continue writing, growing, and having fun and I would love it if you would join me! Subscribe to my email list for short snippets of inspiration or fun, and make my day!

Thanks so much for following  A Prairie Girl's Pen. It will still be here, I don't plan to take it down. I love the memories stored here and I hope that someday I'll look back and see that it was only the beginning.

The Cost of Liberty

  - a short story -

    Philadelphia, July 1st 1776

Elisa's boots clapped along the cobblestones stones as she ran through the streets of Philadelphia, dodging people, horses and carriages in her path. It was early afternoon and stifling hot, making her skirts feel heavy in the dense air. She did her best ignore the discomfort as she rounded the street corner and came within sight of the State House, a large brick building where she knew a long awaited debate was being held. She could see a group of men huddled along the boardwalk outside,  easily spotting her father among them. Her older brother was standing not far off, holding the reins of his saddle horse. She made her way to his side and Myles looked up as she approached.

Sunshine Blogger Award

Summer is such a fun time - and also a busy one. I often find myself running back and forth between school, writing, working horses, caring for pasture land etc. with almost no time in between. But I'm learning to enjoy it, no matter how crazy and stressful it sometimes is. It isn't difficult to spot a thousand blessings in the life God has given me as long as I have eyes to see it. Embrace the busyness and grasp the fun out of life!
So, for the fun of it, I'm doing the Sunshine Blogger Award, which I was tagged to do by Laura who blogs at Flowers in my Basket

These are a Few of my Favorite Things...

So, with Spring upon me, writing regularly has become difficult. I will still attempt to be blogging bi-weekly, but can't resist enjoying life outdoors while I can! To have a little fun with the beginning of Summer under way, I decided to do a post that I was tagged in by one of my favorite bloggers (who also happens to be my sister) - Alice at My Golden Journey.
